Reservations are generally accepted for stays of 5 nights or more using our written online booking form. This ensures that we receive all the information we need and can send you the details for the deposit. At the end of July and during the winter holiday period, a minimum stay of 7 nights is required for a reservation. Reservations for Easter, Ascension Day, Pentecost and Corpus Christi can be made for stays of 3 nights or more.

Shorter stays are normally not a problem. Simply call us the day before to ask about availability. During the high season and on busy weekends with good weather, however, we may be fully booked for several days.

The minimum stay only applies to reservations. It does not apply to spontaneous arrivals or short-notice enquiries without a reservation.

During the low season, we can usually find a pitch for a small tent. At weekends, however, we recommend arriving early. During the high season, we may also be fully booked for small tents for several days or even several weeks. Guests travelling on foot should call us briefly on the day of arrival. We may then be able to keep a pitch available for them.

Pitches are available from 2.00 pm. By prior arrangement, arrival between 8.00 am and 11.00 am is also possible. If the pitch is not yet available, the vehicle can be parked with us free of charge. If we have your telephone number, we can call you as soon as the pitch is ready. If you arrive without a reservation during the high season, we recommend arriving early.

We kindly ask you to settle your bill by 10.00 am on the day of departure and to vacate the pitch by 11.00 am. A later departure is only possible by prior arrangement. For an additional fee, the vehicle may be left in our car park until 6.00 pm on the day of departure.

Arrival after 6.00 pm is only possible in exceptional cases and by prior arrangement, no later than 8.00 pm, with an additional charge of CHF 20.00.

Spontaneous arrivals are possible during the summer season, from May to October. During the high season and at weekends, we recommend arriving early. It is also possible that we may be fully booked for several days.

During the summer months, the bill can be paid on the day of arrival or the following day. In autumn, winter and spring, the bill is settled on the day of departure because we need to take the electricity consumption into account. Any deposit paid will be deducted from the final bill after deduction of the reservation fee.

Payment can be made in cash in Swiss francs, as well as by PostFinance card, debit card or credit card. For smaller amounts, it is useful to have some cash with you.

Fresh bread from the bakery, one of the best in the region, can be ordered at reception.

The Restaurant Rendez-vous is located directly next to the campsite.

There is no kitchen. However, we have a common room where guests can cook using their own gas stove and their own cooking utensils. The common room is not heated and is therefore only open during the summer months.

Barbecues using charcoal or gas are generally permitted. However, the barbecue must be positioned high enough above the grass to prevent the grass from being damaged or burnt. Please do not use disposable barbecues. Our “Finel” has a designated area for charcoal barbecues.
Open fires are not permitted anywhere on the campsite or in the “Finel”.

At an altitude of 1,200 metres above sea level, the grass is more sensitive and recovers very slowly after being damaged. For this reason, plastic sheets and airtight mats may not be placed on the pitches. Breathable camping carpets, such as Aerotex, may be used instead.

Electricity is available on all our pitches. For tent pitches, a longer cable is usually required, with a minimum length of 30 metres. An adapter suitable for Swiss sockets is required. We can provide one if needed. Mobile phones and power banks can be charged free of charge at reception.

We provide free Wi-Fi access. However, reception may vary depending on the device used and the location of your pitch on the campsite.

Dogs are welcome at our campsite. They must always be kept on a lead and must relieve themselves outside the campsite. Dog fences or similar enclosures are not permitted.

For organisational reasons, cars must be parked on our parking terrace or in the parking spaces belonging to the campsite. However, you may drive to your pitch to load and unload your belongings.

Young people under the age of 18 may only stay at the campsite if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Visitors are allowed, but they must be registered. If a visitor stays overnight, the usual per-person rate and tourist tax will be charged.

Water is a valuable resource, and with your help we would like to protect the environment. To use water responsibly and reduce consumption, the charge is CHF 1.00 for 3 minutes. This also helps prevent excessively long showers and reduces waiting times during the high season. We are therefore convinced that charging for showers saves water while also improving comfort. The sanitary facilities are reserved exclusively for registered guests staying overnight at the campsite. They may not be used by external visitors.

In Kandersteg, all adults and children aged 6 and over are required to pay a tourist tax. Children from 0 to 5 years of age are exempt. The tourist tax directly benefits our guests. On behalf of the municipality, the income from the tourist tax is reinvested directly in the local tourism services and infrastructure.

In return, guests receive a guest card. This allows them to use public transport in the region free of charge, receive discounts on all mountain railways and cable cars, and benefit from many other advantages. You can find more information about the benefits of the guest card here.

We do not offer rental accommodation such as bungalows, rental tents or similar types of accommodation.

In winter, the access road to the campsite is usually covered with snow. To reach the pitches, you therefore need to drive on snow. Depending on the conditions, snow chains may not always be essential, but it is important to have them with you.

In winter, you can put on your skis directly at the campsite. Some of our pitches are transformed into part of the ski slope during the winter season. Many pitches are also occupied by seasonal winter guests. As a result, only a very limited number of pitches remain available for guests passing through. A reservation is therefore essential in winter. This also allows us to provide you with important information about your arrival and the road conditions.

We have a ski room at the campsite, but it is not heated. At the lower station of the gondola lift to the Oeschinensee ski area, located 50 metres from the campsite, heated ski lockers are available. This allows you to put on your ski equipment comfortably in a warm room.

Yes, our sanitary facilities are comfortably heated during the winter.

Because of the risk of frost, all outdoor water pipes are shut off during the winter. Grey water, black water and fresh water must therefore be transported by hand to the disposal station inside the building, or, of course, pulled there on a sledge. Even in winter, fresh water must not be emptied onto the campsite grounds because it freezes immediately and creates a slippery surface. This is neither pleasant for the next guest nor safe because of the risk of slipping.
